Hopeful Story

Liberia has elected Africa's first female leader . Though Liberia has a long road ahead, we can at least now be hopeful that it's on the right track.

Your post is extremely vague on what "the right track." You mean having women as leaders? Or willingness to try new things? A little more explanation would be very useful.

The story is hopeful simply because experts are eager to believe that the new leader of Liberia will resist the allure of self-serving corruption and poor governance. The fact that she is a woman is only notable insofar as it is a first. But in a place like Africa, I'm of the mind to believe that this fact certainly cannot hurt.
